Fred Farris

Fred grew up in a one-room cabin in Northern California in the Sierra Nevada Mountains near Lake Tahoe. It was the type of place Ted Kaczynski would have been proud of. Fred has since overcome his hillbilly roots to become a sophisticated metropolitan urbanite with exquisite first-class taste. This former Troglodyte is passionate about the city of Chicago and his River North neighborhood. Fred is the sole inspiration for the current Dos Equis commercials after one of their executives overheard him say “stay thirsty my friends” at a bar after telling a group of Brazilian supermodels how he had during the Cuban missile crisis entertained Castro on his yacht and thereby averted a potential World War 3. Fred can believe it’s not butter. If at first you don’t succeed, it’s because you’re not Fred.
Ok seriously folks, Fred’s passion for live entertainment began as a young boy when his parents took him to the MGM Grand in Reno, Nevada to see Englebert Humperdinck. Why Englebert Humperdinck? Because he’s awesome, that’s why! Actually the main reason was his cousin was a backup dancer and singer for the crooner. After seeing this big casino production show and going backstage where he saw beautiful half-naked running around, he knew this was the business he wanted to be in. Fred later on developed an affinity specifically for stand-up comedy as for some reason his father allowed him to watch George Carlin’s routines on TV. The 7 dirty words you can’t say on television in his opinion is one of the greatest comedic diatribe ever preformed. He also grew up loving Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy and Bill Cosby. While finishing up a degree in Entertainment Management in Las Vegas Fred worked as the company manager several productions including Forbidden Broadway’s run of Forbidden Vegas and legendary comic David Brenner’s one-man comedy show. He currently produces stand-up comedy shows and manages stand-up comedians.
